IND vs ENG: "When It Comes To A Game Against England…" - Ravi Shastri's Take On Rishabh Pant And Dinesh Karthik

Indian Cricket Team is all set to lock horns against mighty England in the Semi Final on 10th November (Thursday). The Men in Blue are high on confidence after winning 4 matches out of 5 in the Group Stage. The management still would be worried about the form of Dinesh Karthik who hasn’t been effective.

India would be well aware of the fact that England would be a completely different challenge. They have got some impeccable fast bowlers and at the same time, they hunt in a pack which makes them a dangerous unit. The speedster Mark Wood would be roaring to make an impact.

Ravi Shastri on Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant

Ravi Shastri was seen interacting with Star Sports and was asked about Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant.

“Dinesh is a lovely team player. But when it comes to a game against England or New Zealand, just seeing their attack, I think you need a robust left-hander, who can turn it on and a match-winner and left-hander,” said Shastri.

“He has done well against England. He recently won a match on his win against England, a one-day game. I would go with Pant, not just because he played here, but because of the X-factor angle, he can bring to the semi-final,”  he added.

Rishabh Pant An Asset

The management would be well aware of the fact that they can use Rishabh Pant as a floater too. The left-handed batter is someone who can rattle the opposition with his stroke play. The management will have to be careful here as Pant is not that consistent with the bat.

Head Coach Rahul Dravid and Skipper Rohit Sharma would be worried as to whether go for experience or talent. There is also one possibility that both the batters; but it would be interesting to see whether Hardik Pandya can bowl 4 overs as he tends to be expensive.
