Netherlands Cricket Team suffered a massive defeat of 56 runs against India. The Netherlands was completely outplayed by India in all the 3 formats of the game. The Netherlands now has lost 2 back to back matches and now are on the brink of getting eliminated from the race Semi-Finals.

Netherlands bowlers weren’t able to pick wickets at regular intervals. It looked as if they weren’t ready for the clash. Indian batters were quite lethal with the bat in the second half of the innings. The likes of Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav made sure that they are posting a formidable total.

Netherlands batters never took the attack on the Indian bowlers. Max O Dowd, the dashing batter couldn’t set the stage on fire as there were huge expectations from him. Not a single batter scored 30-odd runs which were quite rare.

The Skipper Edwards would be worried as the batters didn’t show any fight by any means. Losing by 56 runs raises a lot of question marks over the team’s preparation for a marquee clash.

During Post Match Presentation, Scott Edwards was asked about the match. “Definitely the noisiest (atmosphere), some of the chants that were going around made it difficult to speak to the players sometimes, but it was an awesome experience. We came here to win and put on a good performance, but against these sort of sides you have to be on the money or they make you pay,” said Edwards.

We bowled reasonably well- Scott Edwards

“The way those two batters played in the end and took them to 180, it was always going to be tricky. We bowled reasonably well but if you don’t get the wickets and with the batting order they have, it was always going to be tough to restrict them. It gets bigger and better, doesn’t it? Looking forward to it (the Pakistan game) and hopefully we can put up a better performance.”  added Edwards
