Former India National Cricket Team batter Suresh Raina has made a bold prediction ahead of the high-profile India-Pakistan T20 World Cup game, asserting that the young left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh will dismiss the Pakistan captain Babar Azam in the mouth-watering clash.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 commenced on October 16 with the group stage matches. Eight teams, including two high-profile names – former champions West Indies and Sri Lanka – alongside Zimbabwe, Ireland, UAE, the Netherlands, Namibia and Scotland were battling it out for the 4 vacant spots in the Super 12 stage.

Three teams – Sri Lanka, the Netherlands and Ireland – have already stormed into the Super-12 round of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

The Super-12 round of the T20 World Cup 2022 will begin on October 22 and the final is set to take place on November 13 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Speaking to Quint, Raina showered high praise on the Pakistan captain Babar, but he opined that the young pacer Arshdeep will manage to bag his wicket in the high-octane India-Pakistan clash.

“He is good skipper and a really good cricketer. He has done really well for his team. But hopefully, when he comes to play against us, Arshdeep Singh will get him out,” he said.

Babar and Arshdeep have so far faced off each other twice in T20I cricket during the Asia Cup 2022. In the two meetings, Babar has faced just 6 balls against Arshdeep and has scored six runs, including a boundary.
