For the first time as captain of India at an ICC tournament, Rohit Sharma became emotional at the toss at the legendary MCG on Sunday before of the game against Pakistan at the T20 World Cup stage.

The Indian national anthem was playing when Rohit Sharma couldn’t hold his emotions in check, and his reaction is now beloved by fans. As predicted, Rohit’s emotional reaction has gone viral on social media.

Team India Bowls First

Meanwhile, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bowl first, as expected due to the weather conditions.

India’s starting XI for the high-octane battle included four pacers – Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, and Hardik Pandya – and two spinners – Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin.

Some fans were taken aback by India’s selection of off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in the starting XI over leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who is regarded as a wicket-taker. Some supporters, though, were overjoyed to see Ashwin receive a game against Pakistan.

“Looks like a good pitch, it’s always nice to bowl with overcast conditions. Think the ball will swing around a bit, and we need to take its advantage. Preparations have been good. We played a couple of practice games in Brisbane.

Time to come out and enjoy ourselves now. We were expecting nothing less than this, hopefully we’ll entertain them (the crowd). We have seven batters, three seamers and two spinners,” Rohit Sharma said at the toss.
