Ian Chappell was seen having an interaction with Sydney Morning Herald and made an interesting remark on Pant and Karthik. “What has Tim David done at the international level? Sometimes, selectors pick players on domestic form, and I think India is a classic example. They are picking Dinesh Karthik ahead of Rishabh Pant… ridiculous! I mean, Rishabh Pant should be playing every game. So, that’s the tendency.” said Chappell.

Doubts over Dinesh Karthik

The veteran wicket-keeper batter hasn’t been able to play a significant cameo for the team. He has scored  14 runs in 3 innings and the batter hasn’t been able to make an impact with the bat. The right-handed batter is seen struggling to strike the ball.

Rishabh Pant would be wondering what he needs to do to get into the playing 11. Rishabh is someone who can bat in the middle overs phase and provide the impetus. It would be interesting to see whether Head Coach Rahul Dravid makes any change in the 11th hour.
