Pakistan restricted the Netherlands to 91 for nine in their crucial T20 World Cup match. Opting to bat, Netherlands found the going tough as they were reduced to 26 for three in 8.1 overs and couldn’t recover from it. Colin Ackermann scored a run-a-ball 27, while skipper Scott Edwards (15) also reached double-digit figure.

Shadab Khan was the most successful bowler for Pakistan, snapping three wickets for 22 runs in his four overs. Shaheen Shah Afridi (1/19), Mohammad Wasim Jr (2/15), Naseem Shah (1/11), and Haris Rauf (1/10) were also among the wickets.

Babar Azam’s misfortune continued as he was run out for four against the Netherlands at the T20 World Cup, Super 12 encounter in Perth on Sunday. Fakhar Zaman then stitched a small partnership with Mohammad Rizwan, before being caught behind on 20(16). Mohammad Rizwan was dismissed on 49 and Iftikhar Ahmed joined Shan Masood  (12) in the middle. Pakistan won by 6 wickets.

Pakistan 95/4 (Rizwan 49, Glover 2/22) beat Netherlands 91/9 (Ackermann 27, Edwards 15, Shadab 3/22, Wasim 2/15)

Bangladesh scored 144/8 against the Netherlands who have lost all wickets for 135 runs. Bangladesh won by 9 runs against the spirited Netherlands. Netherlands’ Colin Ackermann waged a lone battle as he scored 62 off 48 balls before being a victim of Taskin Ahmed. Bangladesh’s Afif Hossain scored 38 while Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 25 and Mosaddek Hossain scored an unbeaten 20.

The in-form Dutch side bowled well for the majority of Bangladesh’s innings and some solid catching in the field meant the Asian side could only muster 144/8 from their 20 overs at Bellerive Oval.  Seamers Paul van Meekeren (2/21) and Bas de Leede (2/19) picked up two wickets apiece. Taskin Ahmed has picked 4 scalps for 25 and Hasan Mahmud has claimed 2 scalps for 15.

After being 31/4 in the Powerplay one would say it was quite a close game. But apart from Colin Ackermann and a few lusty blows from Paul van Meekeren, there were hardly any contributions. Bangladesh just kept picking wickets throughout the innings as the Netherlands did in the first innings.

Bangladesh 144 for 8 (Afif 38, van Meekeren 2-21, de Leede 2-29) beat Netherlands 135 (Ackermann 62, Taskin 4-25, Mahmud 2-15) by 9 runs

India defeated the Netherlands by 56 runs to register their second consecutive win in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Electing to bat, India scored 179 for 2 and then restricted Netherlands to 123 for 9. India produced a solid batting display with Rohit Sharma (53), Virat Kohli (62 not out), and Suryakumar Yadav (51 not out) – all scoring scintillating fifties.

Defending, pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/9) and Arshdeep Singh (2/37) and the spin duo of Axar Patel (2/18) and Ravichandran Ashwin (2/21) shone bright with the ball for India. India’s five specialist bowlers shared the wickets, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel, and Ravichandran Ashwin picking up two apiece, and Mohammed Shami one.

India 179 for 2 (Kohli 62*, Rohit 53, Suryakumar 51*) beat Netherlands 123 for 9 (Bhuvneshwar 2-9, Axar 2-18) by 56 runs
