India opener KL Rahul’s poor form with the bat continued in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 as he registered his third single-digit score, this time against South Africa in their third match which is being played at Perth on October 30, 2022.

This match is extremely important for both the teams where India winning here will ensure them a semifinals spot, while South Africa winning here will make life difficult for Pakistan who registered their first win of the T20 World Cup 2022 earlier in the day against the Netherlands after losing to India and Zimbabwe.

India has won its first two matches against Pakistan and the Netherlands with both wins giving them 4 points from 2 matches and captain Rohit Sharma did nothing wrong as he won the toss and chose to bat first on a Perth pitch which has generated some great bounce for pacers.

India made one change as left-arm spinner Axar Patel was replaced in the XI by Deepak Hooda, while South Africa brought in an extra pacer in Lungi Ngidi for Tabraiz Shamsi.

KL Rahul Starts With A Six, But Then Fall To Lungi Ngidi In Slips

India started off cautiously, but both KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma started their innings by hitting a six each. The first wicket to fall was Rohit Sharma, who got out caught and bowled by Lungi Ngidi for 15 runs in 14 balls, as he tried to get aggressive with a pull, but the bounce made the ball hit the splice of the bat.

KL Rahul, who made 4 and 6 against Pakistan and Netherlands in the previous two matches, was under pressure and despite hitting a six to open his account, he looked uncomfortable and Lungi Ngidi got his number, by bowling a length ball outside off stump and Rahul edged it comfortably to Aiden Markram in first slip, getting out for 9 runs in 14 balls.
