Indian Cricket Team are all set to lock horns with Australia in the World Test Championship final slated to begin on 7th June (*Wednesday) at The Oval. Brett Lee backed Australia to win the championship. Brett Lee stated that the Aussies have a strong batting lineup.

All eyes would be on David Warner, the dynamic left-handed batter, who had a topsy-turvy IPL 2023. Warner will have to be watchful against Shami as the lethal pacer doesn’t give ample room and it will be a good contest between him & Shami.

Australia’s lower order once again would be tested, if the likes of Cummins & Starc can contribute 40-odd runs then the Aussies would be in a state of ascendancy. We should not forget that India’s lower order was the main difference in the BGT 2023

I think Australia have got a very settled top 5 and 6 – Brett Lee

Brett Lee was having an interaction with Jio Cinema and was quite confused to pick a side as the winner of the WTC 2021-23 final. Brett Lee picked Australia to emerge victorious against India in the high-octane clash.

“It’s almost like splitting hairs. Both teams come in with a lot of form behind them, which is the reason why both teams will be on display. I will probably have to go with Australia, just going on what I have seen recently,” said Brett Lee.

“They have rebuilt the Australian cricket team. I think they have got a very settled top five and six, so I have to go with the Aussies,” he added.

They are professionals and they will switch back- Brett Lee

Brett Lee was asked whether Australia have an advantage due to the conditions. Brett Lee was quite sure that Indian players would get used to the red ball cricket after a 2 months grueling IPL 2023

“Yes and no, there has been a lot of Australia’s order as well that have been playing T20 cricket. You think about David Warner, you think about Cameron Green, just to mention a few,” said Brett Lee.

“Predominantly, the Indian top order has been over here in the IPL. They are professionals, they will switch back, which is the reason I keep saying that it will be so close.” he added.

The conditions would suit Australian cricket team- Brett Lee

Brett Lee picked Australia as the winner and then stated that the conditions might suit Australia’s attack. Brett Lee pointed out that the spinners would come into action on the 4th and 5th day of the game which would help the Aussies.

“I have to go with Australia. I think with their top order, their bowling, and the conditions – I think they will suit the Australian cricket team. From what I have seen recently at The Oval, the ball will carry through,” said Brett Lee.

“The first two or three days, it will be good to bowl seam, the batters will get in on days two, three and four, and days four and five will get some spin. So that generally would suit the Australian setup in terms of their bowling,” he added.
