Harsha Bhogle, a well-known cricket commentator and analyst, has projected that Ishan Kishan will be chosen ahead of KS Bharat as the wicket-keeper for the World Test Championship final against Australia. This forecast has some people scratching their heads, considering Bharat has been in good form recently and has been functioning as the backup wicket-keeper in the recent series.
Bhogle, on the other hand, believes that Kishan’s attacking batting style and great form in the previous Indian Premier League will give him the lead over Bharat.

Ishan Kishan has been named as Bhogle’s first-choice wicketkeeper for the forthcoming World Test Championship final against Australia. While many players, including Saba Karim and Harbhajan Singh, chose Bharat above Kishan, who has yet to make his Test debut, Bhogle believes Kishan may take advantage of the batting conditions in England.
With the WTC final 2023 slated to take place at the Oval in London, Bhogle stated that the Indian team’s playing XI has as many as 9 players confirmed.

Harsha Bhogle identified Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Cheteshwar Pujara as players who are almost guaranteed to start the marquee match against Australia, while others are in a tightly contested competition to secure a spot in the starting XI.
“I think 9 players pick themselves for India” – Harsha Bhogle
The selection of the wicketkeeper is the main subject of discussion, with Ishan Kishan and KS Bharat emerging as the top contenders. While Bharat has the advantage of having played in tests before during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy earlier this year, Harsha Bhogle goes against the grain and supports Kishan.
The young player’s potential to take advantage of the good batting circumstances anticipated in England is the basis for Harsha Bhogle’s support of Ishan Kishan. According to the commentator, Kishan’s aggressive and hard-hitting style might provide another dimension to India’s batting lineup, thus enhancing their chances of winning the match.
“I think 9 players pick themselves for India. Rohit, Gill, Pujara, Virat, Rahane, Jadeja, Bharat, Shami, Siraj. Depending on conditions/instinct/form, no 8 could be Ashwin (my choice) or Shardul and no 9 Umesh or Unadkat. In very good batting conditions alone, India might consider Ishan ahead of Bharat,” tweeted Harsha Bhogle.
