The 35-year-old India National Cricket Team batter Ajinkya Rahane suffered an injury on the index finger of his right hand on Day 2 of the ICC World Test Championship Final against Australia National Cricket Team at the Kennington Oval in London on Thursday, June 8.

Ajinkya Rahane had taken a small stride forward in defense and was smashed on his fingers as he failed to play his shot. The veteran batter was wincing in pain after the blow and he immediately called for medical attention.
The physio ran onto the field instantly to examine the extent of the injury with the hope of things not being serious. Rahane was treated for quite some time and there was a long delay in the match. Meanwhile, Rahane continued to bat with a heavily taped index finger after suffering the blow.

Overall, Australia have dominated the first two days of the ICC World Test Championship Final. After being invited to bat first, they posted a humongous 469 runs on the board with the help of sensational performances from explosive batter Travis Head and modern-day batting great Steve Smith.
While bowling on Day 2, the Aussie bowlers did a terrific job as they removed India’s top order early. Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Virat Kohli all failed to perform in the high-profile match for India.
Ravindra Jadeja and Ajinkya Rahane steadied the ship and added 71 runs in 100 balls. However, Nathan Lyon cleaned up Jadeja for 48 to send India on the back foot once again. At Stumps, India were at 151/5 and they were trailing by 318 runs.
