Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni will perhaps go down in history as one of the best skippers the game has ever seen. The legendary wicketkeeper batter is the only Indian captain to have won three ICC titles in his tenure and has an impressive record leading the side.

Another name that is always in the conversation when talking about the best captains in Indian history is Sourav Ganguly. The batter has a great record of his name and was the leader of India’s golden generation.

As India prepares for their upcoming challenge against Australia under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, Ganguly was present in Mumbai for a shoot where he talked about the impact MSH Dhoni has produced over time on Indian cricket and the emerging players.

“When you speak about MS Dhoni, it’s not just about the matches he has played. It’s the impact that he has had on Indian cricket. I met him a couple of days ago in Mumbai; we both were shooting. He’s an absolute champion. One of the all-time greats of Indian cricket, winning World Cups, coming from the state of Ranchi which hardly produced any players”

The former skipper also added that MS Dhoni has inspired the upcoming generation of wicketkeepers who want to be like him and play the same brand of cricket.

“I feel proud – I can’t keep saying it – that two of India’s pretty successful captains came from a part of the country where people thought cricket wasn’t at its best. That’s where MS Dhoni comes in; he’s actually changed a generation of players around him to believe that ‘I can be successful’ from here. Look at Ishan Kishan, look at the way he plays international cricket”

MS Dhoni will be soon seen in action as the Chennai Super Kings talisman will look to bounce back from the disappointing performance in the prior edition of the Indian Premier League as his side looks to lift the record 5th IPL title.
