“We know the nature of T20 cricket but beating England in England is a challenge and we overcame that and that is going to give us confidence,” stated Rohit Sharma on the English challenge that lies ahead of the team in the semi-final clash of the T20 World Cup.

India earlier this year went on a tour of England and won a three-match T20I series against England 2-1. Suryakumar Yadav had a remarkable strike rate of more than 200 and scored 171 runs in three innings.

Suryakumar nearly led India to victory in the last T20I after scoring 117 runs off just 55 balls and smashing a magnificent century. India, who had been chasing 216, had fallen short by 17 runs.

With four wickets taken at an economy rate of just 6.25 throughout the course of the series, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was named the player of the series.

“Absolutely it’s an opportunity for us to do what we wanted. We have done well in this tournament we need to stick to what we are doing. Trust what we are doing so far. It is a contest between bat and ball,” remarked Rohit Sharma.

On Thursday, November 10, at the Adelaide Oval, India and a tough England lineup will square off in the semifinal match. The legendary Melbourne Cricket Ground will host the India-Pakistan T20 World Cup final on November 13.
