IND vs BAN: "I Am Really Happy And Excited"- Mehidy Hasan After Winning The Player Of The Match Award In 1st ODI Against India

Indian Cricket Team was asked to bat first by Bangladesh in the 1st ODI. Bangladesh had a new skipper Litton Das as Tamim Iqbal was ruled out due to an injury. The Men in Blue surprisingly made KL Rahul, the wicket-keeper as the team decided to rest Rishabh Pant for the ODI Series.

Bangladeshi bowlers bowled immaculate lines and lengths as they bundled out India for a below-par 186 runs. It looked as if the batters were not ready for the challenge. The likes of Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli weren’t able to trouble the scorers which were quite rare.

Bangladesh was all set to register a thumping victory over India. The Men in Blue from nowhere took 5 wickets for 8 runs and reduced Bangladesh to 136-9. It looked as if Bangladesh once again would succumb to pressure as the team didn’t have a proper batter present.

All-rounder Mehidy Hasan played a dashing unbeaten knock of 38 runs in  39 balls where he struck 4 fours and 2 sixes. The batter showed great determination as scoring was not easy on a sluggish track. Bangladesh made a statement that they are not a finished product.

During post match presentation, Mehidy Hasan was asked about his performance.  “I am really happy and excited. I was only thinking about focusing on one area and believing in that strategy and I knew I only needed to bat about 20 balls to get going. I tried to bowl wicket to wicket with the ball. It is a memorable performance for me.” said Mehidy Hasan.
