Bangladesh Cricket Team had won the toss and elected to bat first. The hosts had a dreadful start to the innings as they were completely blown away by India. Mehidy Hasan & Mahmudullah showed great application as the duo take the team out of the muddle and posted a challenging total of 272 runs.

Indian bowlers couldn’t wrap up the innings after restricting Bangladesh to 69-6. Mohammed Siraj proved to be expensive as the speedster took 2 wickets and gave away 73 runs in his spell of 10 overs. The pacers bowled a bit short which allowed the batters to take the control of the match.

Mehidy Hasan, the dashing all-rounder smashed a terrific century in 83 balls where he struck 8 fours and 4 sixes. The peculiarity of his knock was that he never allowed the bowlers to settle down as the batter keep on rotating the strike.

Mehidy took 2 invaluable wickets of KL Rahul & Shreyas Iyer. The spinner got a cramp and couldn’t complete the quota of overs as he bowled 6.1 overs and gave away 46 runs. The all-rounder now is becoming an integral part of the team and an inseparable one.

During post match presentation, Mehidy Hasan was asked about the match. “All credit goes to God for giving me an opportunity to do this. Nothing else to say. Feels very good. Last few years, I have worked hard on the batting and focused on certain areas to improve. My coaches have given me a lot of information on improving my game.” said Mehidy Hasan.

“Riyad Bhai (Mahmudullah) kept telling me that we need to keep playing deep into the innings and the conversations were mostly about keeping small targets of partnerships. I was just trying to hit the good areas with the ball and put pressure on them.” he added.
