“That is the way you win Test matches”: KL Rahul

KL Rahul described the team’s performance in the first Test victory over Bangladesh as a whole, noting that they played as a coherent one and accomplished well in every area.

“Everything was prominent. We batted and bowled quite well. We also took the majority of the catches that came our way while fielding. That is how Test matches are won. “Only one or two players can win matches in whatever format,” KL Rahul remarked.

“Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj bowled exceptionally effectively in the first innings (of Bangladesh) but others backed them well. Axar Patel bowled effectively in the second innings, but Kuldeep and R Ashwin kept the pressure on. Umesh Yadav and Siraj bowled some really nice spells, kept it tight, and beat the bat several times, but were unlucky,” KL Rahul Added.

Rohit, who led India in two ODIs in the preceding series, was ruled out of the first Test, which India won by 188 runs on Sunday under Rahul’s captaincy.
