Indian Cricket Team suffered a heart-breaking loss against Bangladesh in the 1st ODI. The Men in Blue got a wake-up call as this wasn’t a second-string team. The Bangladeshi Tigers won the match by 1 wicket and would be delighted as they snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

Bangladesh would be well aware of the fact that they cannot get complacent as India would be roaring to make a comeback in the ODI Series. The skipper Rohit Sharma would be utterly disappointed with the bowlers as they weren’t able to take the last wicket when Bangladesh required 51 runs to win.

Dinesh Karthik on Fielding

Dinesh Karthik was having an interaction with Cricbuzz and was asked about India’s fielding. “Obviously KL Rahul’s drop towards the end and Sundar not coming, don’t know why he didn’t come in. I don’t know if it was because of the lights, which I wouldn’t know, but if he had seen the ball, he should have gone for it. That’s only a question he can answer. Overall fielding effort was 50-50. Not the best day, but not the worst day either. I guess in the end, with the pressure, we left some boundaries as well.” said Dinesh Karthik

The trio: Dhawan, Rohit & Virat weren’t able to get a significant score which hurt the team a lot. There were high expectations from Shreyas Iyer to get a big score on board but once again he was dismissed on a short ball where he scored 24 runs in 39 balls.

The decision to make KL Rahul as the wicket-keeper was quite surprising as the team has the services of Ishan Kishan present. It would be interesting to see how the 2nd ODI pans out as Bangladesh would be aiming to seal their  consecutive series win against India (in 2015 Bangladesh had won by 2-1).
