IND vs BAN Match Preview, India Tour Of New Bangladesh 2022, 1st ODI. India takes on Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series followed by a two-match Test series. The ODI series kicks off with the first game in Dhaka on December 4. Dhaka will host the second ODI on December 7 followed by the third in Chattogram on December 10.

The first Test between the two sides will be played in Chattogram from December 14-18. Both teams return to Dhaka for the second and final Test between December 22-26.

Both teams recently played each other in the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. The Men in Blue won both games. The T20 World Cup game was closely contested before Bangladesh lost as per the DLS method. Meanwhile, the squads for this ODI series are announced as both sides are missing key players. Mohammed Shami and Tamim Iqbal are ruled out with last-minute injuries.

Senior Indian players in Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul will all return for the ODI series. The batting looks stacked up with the big three returning along with Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer. The concern, however, are in the bowling department.

Mohammed Shami who was picked in the ODI squad is ruled out of the ODI series with a hand injury. He succumbed to the injury during training. The extent of his injury is not known yet and it is predicted that he might miss the Test series too. In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja, Shami’s absence will be a big concern for the management. The veteran Indian pacer has taken 216 Test wickets and 152 ODI wickets.

The Tigers also have been hit by injury concerns to their regular skipper Tamim Iqbal which ultimately ruled him out of the World Cup. Litton Das will lead the side in his absence. Shakib Al Hasan returns to the ODI side for the upcoming series. Along with him, the likes of Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, and Mustafizur Rahim make this a strong unit.
