India beat Bangladesh by 188 runs in the first Test of the two-match series at the Zahur Ahmed Chaudhary Stadium in Chattogram on Sunday, December 18. Bangladesh were bowled out for 324 runs in reply to a massive 513-run target set by India. Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja made an interesting remark on regular captain Rohit Sharma, who missed the first Test due to a finger injury.
The youngster Shubman Gill, who replaced Rohit Sharma in the playing XI, made the most of his opportunity by scoring his maiden Test century. The Indian skipper is expected to return to Bangladesh for the second Test, which is scheduled to begin on December 22 in Mirpur. India would have a massive selection headache with Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara’s centuries in the first Test.

This Is The Best Solution For It – Ajay Jadeja
When asked who will sit out if Rohit returns, Ajay Jadeja suggested that Rohit should remain at the NCA. With the Test series against Australia coming up, Jadeja believes that Rohit should take his time and not rush his return.
“Tabhi toh bol raha hu Rohit ko bolo ghar me baithne keliye (That is why I suggest Rohit should stay at home). When a player suffers a hand fracture and you cannot hold the bat for about 10 days, even if you recover, you cannot really join the team the very next day,” he said during his conversation with Sony Sports.
“It takes another 1- to 15 days. And we don’t even know the extent of the injury yet. That is why I suggest this. We are looking for a temporary solution and this is the best solution for it,” he added.
Rohit returned home due to an injury sustained during the ODI series. According to sources, Rohit is fit and could return to Bangladesh for the second Test. If Rohit returns as the captain, the changes in the XI will be interesting. India now holds an unassailable 1-0 lead in the Test series. The win boosted India’s chances of making the World Test Championship final.
