IND vs BAN: "They Will Be Itching To Play"- Dinesh Karthik Discusses The Return Of KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, And Rohit Sharma For The Bangladesh Series.

According to Dinesh Karthik, India’s senior batters Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, along with captain Rohit Sharma, will be eager to go for the forthcoming ODI series against Bangladesh. Three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) between the Men in Blue and the Bangla Tigers will begin on Sunday, December 4, in Dhaka. 

The seasoned wicketkeeper said that after a little hiatus following the T20 World Cup in Australia, the three Team India stars will be thrilled to get back into the game.

Game Time Is Going To Be Important For Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul: Dinesh Karthik

Karthik emphasized that Sharma, Kohli, and Rahul need to receive some much-needed game time. He clarified to Cricbuzz as follows: 

“Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul will also be playing the Test matches soon after, which have a lot of relevance as well. Game time is going to be important. They have got a break for at least three weeks after the T20 World Cup and knowing them, they will be itching to play.” 

He added:  

“The one thing that happens when you’re with an Indian player is that sometimes when you don’t play for a couple of weeks, it feels like you haven’t played for a year. That’s how much cricket we play. They know that this is a good series.” 

The three experienced hitters weren’t used because India had just returned from a tour of New Zealand. Both the following two-match Test series and the three ODIs against Bangladesh will feature them. 

On Sunday, December 4, the Shere Bangla Stadium in Dhaka will host the 50-over series’ opening game. The rubber’s second and third games will be on December 7 and 10, respectively.

Rohit Sharma And Shikhar Dhawan Are Non-negotiable: Dinesh Karthik

In the ODI series in Bangladesh, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan should start the Men in Blue’s innings, according to Karthik. 

He said that Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer are also guaranteed spots in the team’s starting XI in addition to the two opening hitters. He added: 

“A few players stand out to me who are going to be a part of the playing XI. For me, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan are non-negotiable, they will open. Virat Kohli will be at three. Four, Shreyas Iyer, just the magnitude of performances in ODI cricket in the recent past.” 

Notably, Rahul would therefore need to bat anywhere in the middle of the order. Dhawan served as India’s interim captain during the just-completed three-match ODI series against New Zealand. 

The veteran politician had a mediocre amount of success, scoring 103 runs at an average of 34.44. In the opening game, the southpaw was outstanding and had a big influence with his 72-run knock.
