India takes on Bangladesh in the first of the two-match Test series in Chattogram from December 14. The series is a part of the ICC World Test Championship with India fourth on the points table while Bangladesh is as low as ninth. The WTC final will be played at Lord’s next year. 

India and Bangladesh have played against each other in 11 Tests, 39 ODIs, and 11 T20Is. The Tigers have never beaten India in a Test match. In ODIs, India have won 31 matches while the Tigers have won seven games. India will be led by KL Rahul in this Test match in the absence of Rohit Sharma who is ruled out with an injured thumb. Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul Shreyas Iyer, and Ravindra Jadeja. Among bowlers, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, and Umesh Yadav will lead the attack.

Shakib Al Hasan will lead the Bangladesh Test side with Tamim Iqbal ruled out of the series with a groin injury. Mominul Haque, Yasir Ali, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Litton Das, and Mushfiqur Rahim are some key batsmen for the team. Taijul Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Khaled Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain, and Shoriful Islam are some key bowlers for the team.

India and Bangladesh locked horns in an ODI series under India tour of Bangladesh 2022. Bangladesh won the ODI series 2-1. The Tigers won the 1st ODI by 1 wicket and the 2nd ODI by 5 runs. India came back to win the third ODI by 227 runs creating a few records.

The first Test between India and Bangladesh will start at 9.30 am local time which is 9 am IST. This is the first Test between both sides since 2019. India and Bangladesh have played 11 Test matches in total with India winning nine games and Bangladesh none. The venue has hosted 22 Tets matches with 8 matches won by the team batting first and seven by the team chasing.

The weather for the most part of the Test match will be warm and sunny. The temperature will hover between 15 to 30 degrees with the sun taking full effect as well. There is no rain of rain across the five days.
