Aakash Chopra believes Prasidh Krishna’s spot in India’s playing XI for the 3rd ODI against England is in doubt.

The final game of the three-match ODI series will be performed on Sunday, July 17 at Old Trafford in Manchester. With the series tied at one game each and the Blues will choose to take a step forward by fielding their strongest lineup.

In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra predicted that Krishna would be dropped from the Indian XI for the final ODI.

“I do not see any reason to alter the batting order, even though it let you down in the last game. The bowling may change. I have the impression that a sword is hanging over Prasidh Krishna’s head,” he said.

Aakash Chopra emphasized that the Indian team’s batting has recently been their weakest point.

He clarified: “Batting has long been a problem. The game’s formats may change, yet occasionally your batting falls short. India’s batting used to be its strongest point, but now the bowling is consistently strong, even if you occasionally bowl poorly. Bowling is doing fine.”

“In Test cricket, batting collapses occur frequently. We observed in the most recent ODI encounter that while 246 was not a particularly high total, you lost the match by 100 runs despite having scored the runs that should have been scored. There is always a chance to bat out the opposition in Test matches, but it rarely happens.”

India and England have played two matches so far in this three-match ODI series, with both teams winning one game, and the series is currently tied at 1-1.

The third One-Day International (ODI) between England and India will be played on July 17th at Old Trafford in Manchester.
