Former Pakistan player Danish Kaneria reckoned that Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar should always be part of the white-ball squads considering how much damage he can do with his skills.

Bhuvneshwar removed the dangerous Jos Buttler on the very first ball during India’s first T20I against England. That was a huge setback as Buttler is comfortably the best batter in white-ball cricket at the moment.

The ball that Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled to dismiss Jos Buttler at the start was a brilliant one. He moves the ball in the air and watching him bowl in England is even more fun. Because of the help he gets, he becomes a deadly bowler.”

Bhuvneshwar is the master of inswingers, just like Mohammad Asif. His seam and swing is so impressive, he proves too good for batters at times,” Kaneria said.

Bhuvneshwar is all but a certain starter for India in the T20 World Cup later this year and the team will be hoping he can keep up his confidence as well as fitness going into the tournament.

I have been saying from the start that India should play him. He can do wonders for Team India. He seems like someone who works hard and uses his brain very well. He was fearless,” he praised.

Notably, India dropped plenty of catches in the first match but was fortunate enough to not bear the brunt of it.

India dropped too many catches, which is not good. No excuses for such dropped catches at this professional level,” he also noted.

India defeated England comfortably in the first T20I with the batters putting on a show before the bowlers backed them up. The second T20I takes place on Saturday.
