Veteran England off-spinner Graeme Swann predicts that Team India, led by head coach Rahul Dravid, will play Test cricket with a more traditional approach than England.

Swann claimed that India beat England last year because they were a superior team. Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum’s new roles as captain and coach have transformed England into a new team, he noted.

The former bowler opined that other teams should improve their management and outlook on the game like England has.

“I believe that India will play Test matches more conventionally than England under coach Rahul Dravid. India was a much superior Test team than England was at this point last year. However, it will be thrilling if more groups can alter their players and outlook like England has. Tests will go well with it,” Graeme Swann stated.

‘Leach could play a major role against India’: Graeme Swann

The veteran cricketer Graeme Swann said that Leach might be crucial against India since Edgbaston will provide something for spinners.

“Brendon McCullum has already done a fantastic job as a coach. When you have a coach who believes in you and a skipper like Ben Stokes who is content if you put up offensive fields, it generates confidence in players, which causes them to believe in themselves.”

“That might be advantageous for Jack Leach. At Edgbaston, you might catch some impressive spin bowling from England. The wicket will undoubtedly turn, so Jack should be optimistic,” Graeme Swann Added.

England is in excellent form right now, having defeated New Zealand 3-0 at home in the series. The English team is eager to play strong cricket and will attempt to compete with India. In the Birmingham Test, which begins on July 1, it would be intriguing to observe how the Indian team fares against the revitalized English team.
