Ishan Kishan could take the opportunity of KL Rahul’s absence and pair with Rohit in the opening slot in the three T20Is against England. The Jharkhand wicketkeeper-batter might not keep the wickets as India have the potential of Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik but he could purely play as a batter at the top.
In the South Africa T20Is, Ishan scored the most runs from both teams, 206 in five games at 41.20, with his 76 being the second-best score in the five-match series after Heinrich Klaasen’s 81. Ishan could manage just 29 runs in two innings in the recently concluded T20I series against Ireland.
