Ajay Jadeja has pointed out the fact that Virat Kohli’s method of dismissing in the second T20 international match against England reveals the former leader of India is being pushed to choose the aggressive option right away.

In the second game of the three-game series on Saturday, July 9, Kohli scored just one run. He attempted to play a huge shot after only three deliveries, but all he managed to do was fly the ball to Dawid Malan, who made a superb catch while running back from point.

Aj While discussing the match on Sony Sports, Jadeja spoke about Kohli’s dismissal: “The way we witnessed Kohli today, it appears somebody is forcing him to go and hit, which we haven’t seen in 15 years. If you’ve been watching cricket for a long time and have seen Virat’s achievement and greatness over the last 10-15 years, it’s shocking. That is something I have not seen in many years.”

“Although there is nothing wrong with playing aggressively, Kohli has a strike rate of about 137 and an average of 51 in these T20Is. Even if they might have a strike rate of 140 or such, no one else even comes close to matching his average of 20 runs.”

“Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Dinesh Karthik all have various styles of play when it comes to strike rate. Virat Kohli and other players are necessary in between.”

On Saturday, India defeated England by 49 runs in the second T20 International to take a 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
