Following a disheartening defeat in the fifth Test Match that was postponed, India dominated England to start the T20I series.

Arshdeep Singh, who was playing in his first game, was among the match’s most outstanding performances as India easily defeated the opposition in the first T20I by 50 runs, giving captain Rohit Sharma a record-setting 13 straight victories while serving as captain in the shortest version of the game.

Ajit Agarkar All Praise For Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh took use of his opportunity when he was given the cap against England after warming the benches in the first two series against South Africa and Ireland.

As he confused the batters with his variations, he monitored the runs. The left-arm pacer recorded excellent final numbers of 2/18 from 3.1 overs. Arshdeep, however, will not be playing in the final two T20Is against the Three Lions.

After Arshdeep Singh had a great debut, former India bowler Ajit Agarkar was all praise for him, especially for his outstanding stint with the new ball.

“We have been so accustomed to seeing him bowl with a slightly older ball in the IPL. We haven’t seen enough of this. If he can do that with the new ball and get it to move at that pace and we all know what he can do at the death.

It was a great day for him even if he hadn’t got those two wickets. Those two wickets in front of his name will make him feel better,” Agarkar said.

Arshdeep Singh Will Be An Asset For The Indian Team: Ajit Agarkar

Ajit Agarkar expressed astonishment that he won’t be in the team and believed that India will lose out on his left-arm bowling in the final two T20Is.

“It’s just unfortunate he is not part of the two games because that sort of performance, going forward, with left-arm bowling as well as he did today and if he can build on that, he would certainly be an asset for the Indian team. So I am a bit surprised that he is not there but he has had a fantastic game,” he added.

For the ODI series against England that gets underway on July 12 at the Oval, Arshdeep Singh will make a comeback.
