For the second Twenty20 International between Team India and England, which will be contested at Edgbaston on Saturday, July 9, Aakash Chopra has provided his predictions on Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya.

With a decisive 50-run victory in the first T20I, the Men in Blue are leading the three-match series 1-0. They’ll be hoping for a repeat performance in Birmingham to win the series.

Rohit Sharma Looked Good In The Last Game: Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra predicted that Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya will make significant contributions with the bat in the second T20I in a video posted to his YouTube channel. He said:

“I feel Rohit and Hardik will together score more than 60 runs. Hardik had alone scored a fifty and Rohit was also actually looking good in the last match. He batted alright in my opinion.”

The former Indian opener anticipates that Liam Livingstone and Jos Buttler would be among the English team’s runs. He observed:

“Jos Buttler and Livingstone will together score more than 60 runs. Jos the boss was dismissed for zero in the last match but that does not happen every time.”

In Southampton’s first T20I, Buttler and Livingstone were both out after being called for ducks.

A powerful inswinger from Bhuvneshwar Kumar castled Buttler. Livingstone attempted to paddle Pandya to fine leg but instead played him straight to Dinesh Karthik behind the stumps.

Aakash Chopra Hoping Tymal Mills And Yuzvendra Chahal To Fire With The Ball

Tymal Mills and Yuzvendra Chahal, in Aakash Chopra’s opinion, will provide both teams with quality ball play. He elaborated:

“I feel Mills and Chahal will together pick up three or more wickets here, although if we see the last match Chris Jordan was the pick of the bowlers, and from our side Bhuvneshwar Kumar with the new ball, Chahal later but Hardik in between.”

The well-known analyst wrapped up by forecasting that Birmingham will feature parity in the series between the two teams. He said:

“I feel, although this can be a reverse jinx, I had said in the last match also that England will win but I said that in the Test match as well, I am going with an England win so that the series stands at par at 1-1 and after that, the final encounter will be all to play for.”

The previous 13 T20 International matches that Team India have won have been captained by Rohit Sharma. They’ll be hoping to keep up their winning streak and win the series before Sunday’s final game.
