Although Karthik is a part of the Indian side in the forthcoming series, he needs to show his consistency for the national team.

India has a few young options for the wicketkeepers like Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, and KL Rahul. If Karthik does not deliver his role efficiently as a lower-order batsman in IND vs IRE series, selectors might overlook him in future T20I tournaments.

Axar Patel is another player on this list. Axar Patel is a spin all-rounder. He is likely to be part of IND vs IRE series.
