India vs Ireland, India Playing XI vs Ireland, 2nd T20I (Predicted)- IND vs IRE 2nd T20I. Ireland is all geared up to tie the 2-match T20I series against India at The Village, Dublin on 28th June from 9:00 pm. India won the first T20I by 7 wickets and 16 balls in hand. Due to the rain interruption, the 1st T20I was reduced to 12 overs for each side. India won the toss and they elected to field first in the 1st T20I. Things went according to the plan as Ireland lost their first two wickets for 6.

However, a superb knock from Harry Tector moved Ireland’s scorecard to 108 for the loss of 4 wickets. Indian openers started the innings aggressively. It was the 3rd over when they lost back-to-back wickets. But skipper Hardik Pandya and Deepak Hooda dominated the Irish bowling attack to chase the target in just 9.2 overs.

With the victory, India now has won all 4 T20Is against Ireland. They are on the verge of being unbeaten in the T20I series for the fifth time. They have won 9 out of 11 T20Is played this year. On the other hand, Ireland has 5 victories and 4 losses in 9 T20Is played this year. It was clearly seen in the 1st T20I that the Ireland team lacks the resistance to fight against the top Test-playing nations. But a 12-over game doesn’t judge your overall performance.

Hardik Pandya is on the verge of winning a T20I series on his debut as a captain. India tried Deepak Hooda and Ishan Kishan pair as openers. The plan worked in favour of India as Ishan Kishan scored 26 runs off 11 deliveries with 3 fours and 2 sixes. Deepak Hooda then capitalized on the opportunity to score 47 runs in 29 deliveries. Ishan Kishan’s strike rate is 156.75 in the last 6 T20Is.

This means Ruturaj Gaikwad, who had a calf niggle, will have a role to bat in the middle order. Suryakumar Yadav’s return didn’t go well for him as he got out on a first-ball duck. But his strike rate in T20Is is above 160. So, there is no problem with having an off-game.

Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik, and Ruturaj Gaikwad, if fit will bat in the middle order. Hardik Pandya promoted himself to number 4 to score 24 runs with 3 gigantic sixes at a strike rate of 200. Dinesh Karthik and Ruturaj Gaikwad might see their places swapped if it comes to that stage for India. Axar Patel can also be the option for India in the middle order.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar will lead the bowling attack with Avesh Khan and Umran Malik. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 1 wicket for 16 in 3 overs that included one maiden over. Avesh Khan once again went for over 10 runs. So did the debutant express pacer Umran Malik.

Though Umran Malik clocked 148 KMPH he went for 2 boundaries and a six against Harry Tector. He will still get his chances in the second game. On not so spin-friendly track, MOM Yuzvendra Chahal gave just 11 runs in 3 overs and took a wicket. With world cup preparations on the line, he will continue to be in playing 11 over Ravi Bishnoi.

In the absence of Ruturaj Gaikwad, India are very much likely to hand over the T20I debut cap to Rahul Tripathi as Ishan Kishan’s opening partner for the second and final T20I match. It will be interesting to see whether the visitors will play Sanju Samson in the playing 11 or not.

Batting at a strike rate of 158.33, the right-handed batter Rahul Tripathi had accumulated 413 runs from 14 matches in this edition of the IPL 2022 for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He had scored 397 in 17 matches in 2021 and was a key player for his former franchise Kolkata Knight Riders.

Rahul Tripathi has finally gotten his first India call-up for Ireland T20Is after a successful IPL 2022 season for Sunrisers Hyderabad. There were a lot of backlashes after he was not considered for the 5-match T20 series against South Africa.

Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan will open for the team in the 2nd T20I. Ishan Kishan was very impressive in the last series, smashing 206 runs in 5 innings at an average of 41.20 with 2 half-centuries. He was the highest run-getter in the series against Proteas.

Ishan Kishan scored an aggressive 26 runs off only 11 balls in the 1st T20I which included 3 fours and 2 sixes. His opening partner Ruturaj Gaikwad didn’t bat for having a calf niggle in the 1st T20I as Deepak Hooda was promoted up the order. Rahul Tripathi or Sanju Samson will replace Ruturaj Gaikwad in the 2nd T20I.

Sanju Samson

So far, Sanju Samson has played one ODI and 13 T20Is for India scoring 46 and 174 runs respectively. Sanju Samson has been a consistent performer in the IPL for Rajasthan Royals over the last two seasons. The skipper led Rajasthan Royals to the final of IPL 2022, scoring 458 runs at a strike rate of close to 150.

Sanju Samson has struggled to replicate his IPL exploits at the international level as the Kerala batter, who made his debut in 2015, has managed 174 runs at a meagre average of 14.50 in 13 T20Is.

Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav might bat at the no.3 spot in the 1st T20I. The right-handed batter will be back on the field after a long time. He was part of IPL 2022 but was ruled out due to an injury midway. Suryakumar Yadav gave a good performance in IPL 2022, hitting 303 runs in just 8 games at an average of 43.29 with 3 half-centuries. He was out lbw for a first-ball duck to Craig Young and will certainly look to make amends.

Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya is the skipper of India in the Ireland T20I series. The right-handed batsman showed a good performance in the previous series against Proteas smashing 117 runs in 4 innings at an average of 58.50. He slammed quickfire knocks in the death at a strike rate of 153+. He was the 3rd highest run-getter in the preceding T20I series. He scored 24 off only 12 balls which included 1 four and 3 sixes besides picking 1/26 in 2 overs in the 1st T20I against Ireland in a rain truncated game.

Taking extra responsibility on the batting front at No. 3-4, Hardik Pandya topped the runs chart for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022 with 487 runs at an average of 44.27 with a strike rate of 131.26. He also filled in the fifth/sixth bowler’s capacity, taking 8 wickets with a healthy economy rate of 7.27 to dispel doubts around his bowling fitness. The right-arm seamer reserved his best for the last by delivering an impactful spell of 3 for 17 off his 4 overs in the IPL 2022 final.

Dinesh Karthik

Dinesh Karthik might be a lower-order batsman and the wicketkeeper for the team. In the absence of Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik will be a better option as a wicketkeeper for the team. The right-handed batsman slammed 92 runs in 4 innings in the previous series. Like Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik also scored quickfire runs in the death, batting at a strike rate of 158+.

Dinesh Karthik had taken IPL 2022 by storm with his incredible power-hitting skills in the slog overs. He scored 330 runs in 16 innings at a strike rate of 183.33 with one half-century averaging 55.  Dinesh Karthik made his India debut in 2004 and went on to play India’s first-ever T20I match. If all goes well, he will play the ICC T20I World Cup 2022 at the ripe age of 36/37. He scored an unbeaten 5 off 4 balls in the 1st T20I.

Deepak Hooda

For a stellar IPL 2022 season in which he scored 451 runs for new entrant Lucknow Super Giants, Hooda received high appreciation from the cricket fraternity. He contributed significantly to Lucknow’s run to the playoffs by scoring four half-centuries in 15 games.

Venkatesh Iyer is also another contender for the 2nd all-rounder’s spot. Deepak Hooda has played 2 ODIs and 4 T20Is averaging 55 and 68 respectively in the aforementioned formats respectively. He has also picked a solitary ODI scalp. Deepak Hooda was promoted as an opener in the 1st T20I against Ireland and he scored an unbeaten 47 off 29 balls including 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the vice-captain will be one of the pacers for India in IRE vs IND 1st T20I. The right-arm pacer grabbed the limelight in the IND vs SA series by winning the player of the series award. The right-arm pacer picked 6 wickets in 4 innings. His X-factor was his economy rate, as he conceded runs at an economy of just 6.07. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up the wicket of Andrew Balbrine and returned with match figures of 1/16 in 3 overs in the rain truncated 1st T20I.

Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal will be the sole pure spinner for the team in IRE vs IND 2nd T20I. Axar Patel, who conceded 12 runs in 1 over may be rested and an extra batter may be picked as Deepak Hooda can bowl a few overs of spin. Venkatesh Iyer, the pace bowling all-rounder is another option to replace the spinner Axar Patel, who had a poor series against Proteas.

The right-arm leg spinner gave a brilliant performance in the previous series against Proteas, picking 6 wickets in 5 games at an average of 19.33. He was awarded the Man of the Match for returning with figures of 1/11 in 3 overs in the 1st T20I. He picked up the scalp of Lorcan Tucker in the 1st T20I.

Avesh Khan

Avesh Khan will be another pacer for the Indian team in the 2nd T20I. Avesh Khan was the standout bowler for India, finishing with a spell of 4-0-18-4-his career-best in the 4th T20I against South Africa. He now has 7 scalps in 8 T20Is averaging 27.42. He picked Gareth Delany’s scalp in the 1st T20I against Ireland returning with figures of 1/22 in 2 overs.

The right-arm pacer was quite effective in IPL 2022, picking 18 wickets in 13 games for his new team Lucknow Super Giants.

Harshal Patel

Harshal Patel, the leading wicket-taker in the series against South Africa will be another pacer for the Indian team in the 2nd T20I game against Ireland replacing debutant Umran Malik who conceded 14 runs in only 1 over bowled. Harshal Patel has picked 7 scalps averaging 12.57 bowling 12.1 overs in the T20I series.

The right-handed bowler picked 19 wickets in 15 games for RCB in IPL 2022. He had bowled at a decent economy of 7.66 in the IPL 2022.
