During the 18th over of the Pakistan innings, which was bowled by Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep dropped a simple catch of Asif Ali. The Pakistan batter made the most of the opportunity and helped Pakistan win the match. Following the dropped catch the pacer faced heavy online trolling.

Meanwhile, the left-arm seamer said that the fans love cricket a lot and they have the right to express their love and anger. He added that it’s the players’ responsibility to accept both.

“People love us and our game a lot. So when we perform our best, people love us and when we don’t perform, people show their disappointment,” Arshdeep said at a press conference.

“So there is nothing like dealing with this. They express their emotions because we play for India and it is the fans’ right to express their love or anger. We should accept both.”

Arshdeep Singh, who has established himself as one of India’s most reliable T20I bowlers, said that he was delighted to represent India in ODIs after playing a good number of T20Is. He elaborated:

“It feels good to debut in the ODIs after playing in T20Is for India. As it is a dream for any youngster to play for India, my aim is also to represent the country and win matches for India.

“I don’t think my journey is easy or challenging. We as players focus on playing, enjoying the process, and not thinking much about it being easy or challenging. When we perform at our best, it feels good. We take the game match by match and don’t really think too much that I want myself here in the next year or so.”

The left-arm seamer didn’t have a good ODI debut as he went wicketless and conceded 68 runs in 8.1 overs in the match against the Black Caps.
