IND vs NZ: "He's Batting On Another Planet": Glenn Maxwell Said Of Suryakumar Yadav's Century Against New Zealand

Glenn Maxwell, an all-rounder for Australia, is absolutely amazed by Team India standout Suryakumar Yadav’s batsmanship this year.

On November 20, in the second T20I match against New Zealand at the Bay Oval, Yadav elevated his batting to a new level by scoring his second hundred in the format. His undefeated 111 in only 51 balls helped India win by 65 runs.

Glenn Maxwell opened up about his reaction to Suryakumar Yadav’s century during an episode of the podcast “The Grade Cricketer.” He stated:

“I didn’t know the game was on. But I later checked the scorecard and sent the picture of that to Finchy (Aaron Finch) and said, ‘What is this guy doing? He is batting on a completely different planet! Look at the score of the others and then he scores 111 off 50.”

“I watched the replay of the innings the next day and it’s embarrassing that he is so much better than everyone else. It’s almost hard to watch. He is better than anyone we have got.”

Glenn Maxwell responded with a humorous response when asked if Suryakumar Yadav could play in the Big Bash League (BBL). He claimed that no team could pay the price for such a fantastic player:

“We won’t be able to afford Suryakumar Yadav in the Big Bash League even with all the money in our cap. We have to sack everyone, save the money, and then hope he agrees.”

When the third and final game, played on Tuesday, November 22, in Napier, resulted in a tie using the DLS system, the Men in Blue finished the series with a 1-0 victory. Despite being removed in the third T20I for a 10-ball 13, Yadav ended the series as the series’ leading scorer with 124 runs.

SKY maintained an average above 46 and a strike rate of more than 187 while scoring an absurd 1164 runs in the year 2022.
