India take on New Zealand in a three-match T20I and ODI series between November 18-30. The first T20I will be played in Wellington on November 18. The next two matches will be played in Mount Maunganui (November 20) and Napier (November 22). Both teams are fresh from their T20 World Cup campaign and now looking forward to a competitive series.
Hardik Pandya will lead the Indian side while Kane Williamson will continue to lead the Kiwis. Despite recent criticism of his batting in T20Is, the management is still confident of Kane’s abilities in the format.
The Indian team is without their senior players. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah all have been rested from the series. Jadeja and Bumrah missed the T20I World Cup due to injuries and are still recovering.
However, there is enough depth in this Indian side. The likes of Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill and Hardik himself give the team enough depth in their batting. With Harshal Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal there is enough quality in the bowling attack as well. In this article, we take a look at India’s likely XI for the first T20I against New Zealand.

Against South Africa before the T20 World Cup, he scored 80 runs in three matches.
