Team India’s Test captain Virat Kohli is all set to return to the fold for the third and final Test against South Africa starting on January 11.

Kohli sat out of the second Test due to upper back spasms and KL Rahul took over as the captain in the absence of regular vice-captain, Rohit Sharma. Now that Kohli has had sufficient time to recover, he took to the nets to get some valuable match practice.

The BCCI shared pictures from India’s net session on Sunday, giving a view of the picturesque Newlands Stadium as well. Seen practicing among others were Mayank Agarwal and Rahul Dravid was also seen giving some pointers to Cheteshwar Pujara.

Speaking at a virtual press conference ahead of the all-important series decider, Dravid had also confirmed that Kohli was feeling good and will get back into the rhythm of Test cricket after a couple of practice sessions.

Virat Kohli should be fine from all accounts, he should be fine. He has had the opportunity to run around a little bit, he has had the opportunity to test it a little bit.

Hopefully with a couple of net sessions in Cape Town, he should be good to go. Everything I am hearing and just having a chat with him, he should be good to go in four days time,” Dravid had stated.

Other than Kohli, India has injury concerns regarding Mohammed Siraj, who injured his hamstring in the second Test and is unlikely to take part in Cape Town.
