Ravichandran Ashwin is another player who might play his last ODI series during the IND vs SA ODI series. The right-arm spinner will turn 36 this year and faces a lot of competition from young spinners like Rahul Chahar, Varun Chakravarthy, Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal among others.
Ashwin got a call-up in the ODI squad due to the absence of all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who wasn’t available due to an injury. With Jadeja’s return, Ashwin will find it difficult to play as an all-rounder in the ODI squad. The off-spinner last played an ODI in June 2017, so he has already spent a lot of time out of the ODI team.
