With an in-form, fully-fit Hardik Pandya in the lineup, former all-rounder Reetinder Singh Sodhi thinks India are a strong contender for the T20 World Cup in 2022.

The all-around player has improved his physical condition and has consistently contributed to the team’s efforts.

Pandya has achieved his first T20I fifty and his best bowling numbers (4/33) since rejoining the national team following the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL).

When Hardik Pandya Scores Runs Or Takes Wickets India Wins 90 Percent Of Matches: Reetinder Singh Sodhi

During the two-match T20I series against Ireland in July, the Baroda all-rounder was also given the reins for the Men in Blue. Sodhi described Pandya as a confident, clever cricketer on India News Sports.

“Pandya is a player who will walk out on the field and use his brains and play his own game. He is a ruthless cricketer, whenever he scores a run or takes wickets, India will win 90% of their games. He knows how to get out of difficult situations. One of the main reasons why India are a serious contender for the WC, is because Pandya has regained his form.”

The all-rounder improved his fitness after a disappointing performance during the 2021 T20 World Cup. He played in the IPL, guiding the Gujarat Titans (GT) to victory in their inaugural season while missing out on the extended home season and the South African trip.

Pandya performed exceptionally well in the IPL as a batter and batted at the top of the order. He was amongst the highest run-scorers in the tournament. Pandya switched to being a finisher on the Indian side and he succeeded even there.
