IND vs WI: Hardik Pandya’s Otherworldly Reaction As Reporter Reminds Him Of ‘I Want To Be Like Jacques Kallis’ Comment

The bowler Hardik Pandya has suffered from ailments during the previous two years. Due to his inconsistent bowling, the flashy Baroda all-rounder even lost his spot in the Indian lineup.

The Indian, however, made a brilliant return in the Indian Premier League (IPL), leading Gujarat Titans, a club making its debut, to victory. His selection as India’s captain for the two-match series in Ireland was also influenced by his decision-making and field-setting in the T20 league. 

Having excelled in England as well, Hardik, who adores his tattoos and swank lifestyle, currently enjoys the position as a secondary bowling selection.

Hardik Pandya Full Of Confidence

In the T20 and ODI series, the 28-year-old recorded career-best figures of 4/33 and 4/24. At the top level, his ability to consistently bowl may bring him a lot of happiness, but it is still unclear whether Hardik will match the successes of his “idol,” Jacques Kallis. 

As Kallis did for South Africa, Hardik had before declared his desire to give his best for India. Hardik is full of confidence and wants to take over India, prompting experienced journalist Vimal Kumar to ask him, “Kya ab aap India ka Hardik Pandya ban gaye hain?” (Have you become India’s Hardik Pandya?) 

“Aap bate sakte hai sir, mujhe toh nahi pata. Mera to naam hi Hardik Pandya hai… toh banne ki zarurat nahi hai Hardik. (You can tell that, sir. I don’t know. My name already Hardik so I don’t need to become one),” replied Hardik in a video shared on Vimal Kumar’s YouTube channel. 

“I try to give my best. If someone isn’t able to do what I am doing right now, I might have become India’s all-rounder,” he added. 

“Big things start with the dream only. This was the dream. Yes, it’s fulfilling. I want to be like Jacques Kallis. What he has done for Proteas in batting and bowling. I want to do the same thing for India,” During his formative years in international cricket, Hardik had stated. 

Hardik Pandya Crucial To Team India’s Success

Hardik, whose prowess with the bat was never in question, is crucial to success against West Indies. In the second Twenty20, he scored 31 to revive India’s innings, but he was out for just 4 in the third match. 

Due to Hardik’s departure, Deepak Hooda and Rishabh Pant were able to help India cross the finish line on Tuesday. Hooda had 10 more plays while Pant had 33 unanswered. 

Earlier, India had a good grip on the 20-over match at Saint Kitts because to Suryakumar Yadav’s 44-ball 76. With eight wickets in hand, the right-handed batsman smashed four sixes and eight boundaries as India’s victory goal was reduced to 30 runs from 33 balls. 

In response to the West Indies’ 164-5 total, India easily arrived at 165-3 with six balls to spare. There are still two games left in the series, and India is up 2-1.
