West Indies host India for the final two T20Is in Florida. They are trailing the series 2-1 and need to win the final two games to win the series. Both teams will reach Miami by Thursday for the fourth T20I which starts at 10.30 am local time on Saturday, August 6. The final game will be played on August 7, Sunday. Irfan Ali, the President of Guyana sorted out the visa issues and abled the players to reach Florida for the final two games.

“It was a timely and influential diplomatic effort by His Excellency,” said Ricky Skerritt, the president of Cricket West Indies (CWI), thanking the head of the Guyana government.

“They can fly only tomorrow afternoon. All Visa applications have been approved but passports are not to be returned until this afternoon,” Skerritt said, revealing the reason for the delayed travel. “All that the CWI could do has been done. Last night’s charter to Miami, for those previously with visas, was at greater financial risk to delay it than to operate it as previously planned,” Skerritt further said.

Both teams are trying out possible combinations in their playing XI. India is without KL Rahul and Virat Kohli in this series. Both the players are expected to make a comeback in the Asia Cup. India then hosts Australia and South Africa for a three T20I match series before heading into the T20 World Cup in October.

Windies skipper Nicholas Pooran after the third T20I loss said that they failed to put up enough runs on the board and did not bowl well which resulted in them losing the third T20I.

Nicholas Pooran

“Felt we had to get early wickets. Didn’t do that. We felt like we had enough. India bowled well. Wicket was on the slower side, felt it was difficult to keep scoring on it. Would’ve been a different game had we got early wickets. We kept losing wickets in the middle overs. We lost the game but did a lot of right things. Felt like we were 10-15 runs short. But early wickets could’ve changed the game today” said Pooran while coping up with another loss.
