India take on West Indies in the fifth and final T20I in Florida on August 7, Sunday. The visitors are leading the series 3-1 at the moment and would like to end it on a high. The teams travelled from the Caribbean to Florida after the confusion around the availability of visas was sorted by the Guyanese President’s intervention. India won the fourth T20I by 59 runs.

The players reached Florida on August 4 for the final two T20Is. “It was a timely and influential diplomatic effort by His Excellency,” said Ricky Skerritt, the president of Cricket West Indies (CWI), thanking the head of the Guyana government.

India are without Virat Kohli and KL Rahul in this series. Both the players are expected to make a comeback in the Asia Cup. The Indian XI would look very different to what it is now once Kohli and Rahul comes back. The BCCI and the management thus are trying to give as many opportunities to players in the meantime.

Windies skipper Nicholas Pooran after the fourth T20I loss yet again blamed his batters for taking them over the line in the game. His run out in the 5th over of the chase turned out to be the turning point in the game.

“We know they got off to a flying start, but I was happy with the way our guys came back. Unfortunately we didn’t get a partnership, it was a par score. Not ideal to get run out, it changed the game. There was some miscommunication. But the other guys could have put their hands up and taken us over the line” said Pooran while coping up with another loss.
