India Vice-Captain Ravindra Jadeja Doubtful For ODI Series Against West Indies - Reports

Ravindra Jadeja is a questionable starter for the One-Day International series against the West Indies, which begins on Friday (July 22).

Cricbuzz has reported that Jadeja, who has been selected vice-captain for the three-match ODI series, has a niggle on his knee and is seeking medical counsel to evaluate the severity of his ailment. Shikhar Dhawan is the captain, as is well known.

According to sources inside the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), there is a likelihood that Jadeja (33), the team’s premier all-rounder, may be rested for the whole ODI series, with the decision based on the precaution of not aggravating his ailment, allegedly to his left knee.

According to sources, the allrounder might be ready for the five-match T20I series that follows the three ODIs. The ODIs are set for July 22, 24, and 27 at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

The Selectors Might Leave The Decision On Rahul Dravid For Appointing A Vice-Captain

The situation has prompted national selectors and team management to consider if a deputy must be named. There is a likelihood that no announcement will be made, and the choice of the vice-captaincy would be left up to coach Rahul Dravid. Shardul Thakur and Yuzvendra Chahal are the other seniors in the ODI team.
