India and Zimbabwe go head to head in the third and final ODI of the three-match series on August 22, Monday in Harare. India won the first two games and are looking to complete a whitewash. Zimbabwe, on the other hand, are trying to salvage a win.
Indian skipper KL Rahul spoke about his form and the performance of the team after the second ODI. India won the game by five wickets as they chased down 162 required to win inside 26 overs.
“I do need some time in the middle, obviously playing this series was important for me to take some runs and confidence away, unfortunately didn’t work out today. They do have some quality bowlers, I saw that in the previous series against Bangladesh as well. The bowlers came strong at us, a good challenge for us. We are here to play good cricket and win, every opportunity is an honour, so we want to go out there next time also to enjoy ourselves and put a good performance” said Rahul.
Zimbabwean sipper Regis Chakabva said that though they did not have too many runs on the board, their bowlers put up a good fight.
“I think we had a really good fight. Last few games we struggled to pick up early wickets and we managed to do that. Today we were short of a few runs. We were up for the challenge, the bowlers hit their lengths really well” said Chakabva.
