Zimbabwe take on India in the second ODI in Harare on Saturday, August 20. The hosts lost the first ODI as they were outplayed by the Indian team. They are now in a must-win situation heading into the second ODI. They need to win the game to keep the series alive.
Zimbabwe scored only 189 in the first ODbatting first and India chased the score down rapidly and won by 10 wickets. Shubman Gill (82) and Shikhar Dhawan (81*) formed an unbeaten partnership of 192 to take India to victory. Zimbabwean skipper Regis Chakabva lamented the lack of partnerships which resulted in the team losing the game.
“We needed to have one or two big partnerships, but it didn’t happen today. Our bowlers tried to come hard at them, but obviously they batted really well and took the game away from us. We will have a chat today, keep our heads up and bounce back strong on Saturday” he said after They lost the first ODI.
