Australia take on India in an official warm-up game at The Gabba on October 17, Monday. The match starts at 9.30 am IST. The super 12 round begins on October 22 with the first match between Australia and New Zealand- the finalists of last year’s T20 World Cup. The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 final will be played on November 13.

Australia are the proud host of the tournament having won the T20 World Cup last year. They defeated New Zealand in the final. Heading into this tournament, they have had issues with form and fitness of a few players.

Skipper Aaron Finch has suffered a slump in his form. He batted at number four in the first two T20Is against England. Glenn Maxwell too has suffered a loss of form. He has not scored a fifty-plus score in more than his last 20 T20I innings for Australia.

Speaking about fitness issues, Mitchell Marsh and Marcus Stoinis have just recovered from injuries. Both played the series against England. They are yet to be 100 per cent fit and are being monitored by the medical team. David Warner is expected to be rested after taking a blow on his head in the second T20I against England at Canberra. Given the availability of players, this might be Australia’s playing XI for the warm-up game against India.
