India vs Bangladesh Weather Report, Weather Condition, Weather Prediction, Weather Forecast- 2nd Test. India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test Match will be played from 22 to 26 December 2022 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, Bangladesh. Prior to the Test Series, both the teams squared off against each other in the three-match ODI series, which was won by the hosts Bangladesh by 2-1.

The visitors registered a comprehensive 188-run win against Bangladesh in the first Test of the series at Chattogram. With just one more Test remaining, the visitors would be looking to end their tour with a whitewash and earn some valuable World Test Championship points.

It took the visitors only 11.2 overs on the final morning of the Chattogram Test to pick up the last four Bangladesh wickets and take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. Their 188-run win and South Africa’s six-wicket loss to Australia shortly afterward meant the visitors are now second on the World Test Championship points table. They have another five Tests in this cycle, and if they win four of those, they will guarantee themselves another appearance in the final.

1st Test:- India 404 (Pujara 90, Iyer 86, Miraz 4-112, Taijul 4-133) and 258 for 2 dec (Gill 110, Pujara 102*) beat Bangladesh 150 (Mushfiqur 28, Kuldeep 5-40) and 324 (Zakir 100, Shakib 84, Axar 4-77) by 188 runs

Bangladesh did show some fight in the second innings but overall, they were way below par in all the departments. It was expected that Bangladesh would put up a stiff fight at home in the Test series against the visitors, but barring some second innings resistance they faltered. After reducing the visitors to 48-3 in the first innings, they allowed them to post 404 on the board.

They were then bundled out for just 150 in their first innings and had to chase a mammoth target of 513 in the second. Bangladesh fought hard courtesy of a century on debut by opener Zakir Hasan and some late-order heroics by captain Shakib Al Hasan (84), but they fell well short at 324.

The failures of Litton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim in both innings are a matter of concern and the two experienced batters would be hoping for a better performance in the 2nd Test.

On the bowling front, the only positive for the home side was off-spinner Taijul Islam who picked up 4-133 in the first innings and was consistent with his lines. Fast bowlers Khaled Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain will need to be a lot more consistent with their lines if they have to put pressure on this Indian batting unit. Taskin Ahmed, who missed the first Test, should return for the next game. He is the team’s primary fast-bowling weapon and his return will bolster the bowling unit.

Bangladesh Predicted Playing XI:

Zakir Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Litton Das, Shakib Al Hasan (c), Mushfiqur Rahim, Mominul Haque, Nurul Hasan (wk), Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Nasum Ahmed

The visitors had a near-perfect Test where they ticked almost all the boxes. On the batting front, Cheteshwar Pujara had scores of 90 and 102* while opener Shubman Gill smashed his maiden Test ton. Shreyas Iyer scored a fine 86 in the first innings and Ravichandran Ashwin showed his value with the bat once again with a gutsy 58 down the order. His partnership of 92 runs for the 8th wicket with Kuldeep Yadav (40) turned the match in the visitors’ favor completely.

The visitors were clinical with their bowling led by Kuldeep Yadav who made a terrific return to the Test team by picking up 8 wickets in the Test. The chinaman spin bowler’s 5-40 in the first innings broke the back of Bangladesh. Axar Patel was also impressive, taking 4-73 in the second innings when the wicket had eased out considerably. Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj bowled with a lot of heart and his spell of 3-20 in the first innings was one of the highlights of the match.

Rohit Sharma’s thumb injury hasn’t recovered sufficiently for him to be available for India’s second Test against Bangladesh, as the BCCI confirmed on Tuesday that the skipper will continue to sit out, along with fast bowler Navdeep Saini.

Left-arm seamer Jaydev Unadkat is also likely to be given a chance in place of Umesh Yadav. KL Rahul will continue as the Indian skipper.

India Predicted Playing XI:

Shubman Gill, KL Rahul (c), Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (wk), Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat, Mohammed Siraj

The Shere Bangla National Stadium pitch is typically good for batting in the first three days and then starts crumbling a bit. Batters will enjoy the hardness in the first two days but spinners should get assistance too.

The role of spinners will be particularly crucial during the final two days when there is a lot of turn on offer. The weather in Dhaka will be sunny and pleasant for all five days of the Test. According to weather.com, the temperature will range between 16 degrees to 29 degrees Celcius on match days 22 to 26th December, while humidity will be around 60-65% during the day. There is less than a 10% chance of rainfall.

Dhaka’s Shere Bangla National Stadium is a high-scoring venue. The average first innings score here is 342. However, the average 4th innings score here is just 180, indicating how tough it might be for the team that bats last on this wicket. The team that bats first should look to post a total of around 450 runs.

Of the 23 Tests played at this venue, 12 have been won by the team batting first. The team winning the toss is likely to bat first here. Azhar Ali had scored 226 while Mehidy Hasan Miraz had taken 12/117 in a match and Taijul Islam had taken 8/39 in an innings.
