Chennai Super Kings vs Gujarat Titans, CSK Playing 11 vs GT (Predicted), IPL 2022, Match 62, CSK vs GT. 9th placed Chennai Super Kings will play against table-toppers Gujarat Titans on 15 May 2022 at 3:30 pm in the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, India.

Gujarat Titans are coming into this game after a massive win against the other new entrant 2nd placed Lucknow Super Giants. The Chennai Super Kings lost to the bottom-placed Mumbai Indians in their last game and with the loss have ended all their hopes of making it to the playoffs.

The Gujarat Titans have been the team to beat and won most of their games by big margins. They are through to the next playoffs round and have already won 9 out of 12 games it has played most of their key players in good form. CSK has struggled since the start of the season and must play for pride from hereon. It will be interesting to see if they can surprise everyone to win this game against a tough opponent.

MS Dhoni’s side made headlines for the wrong runs in the last few days with Ravindra Jadeja’s injury and the controversy surrounding it. This affected the side in the last game against the Mumbai Indians where they lost by 5 wickets after being bowled out for only 97 runs. They can’t make it to the playoffs from here and MS Dhoni would like to restore lost pride by winning this game.

Openers Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad had a poor outing against Mumbai and these two players would be key to CSK’s success. They had done well in the last few games. Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, and Robin Uthappa must bring their experience to play in the middle order. With MS Dhoni, Shivam Dube, and Dwayne Bravo to follow there is good firepower in this batting line-up.

Pacer Mukesh Choudhary has earned lots of praises and he will have to deliver early breakthroughs along with Simarjeet Singh with the new ball. Dwayne Bravo has been one of the best bowlers for Chennai Super Kings in the tournament and there would be huge hopes from him. The side would also like to see good bowling from Maheesh Theekshana and Moeen Ali in this game as this attack lacks depth.

Hardik Pandya’s side is enjoying a wonderful run in the tournament. They have become the first team to book a berth in the next playoffs round after their comfortable 62-run win against the 2nd placed newcomers Lucknow Super Giants. Their batsmen and bowlers have done well in the tournament. Hardik Pandya would be aiming to build momentum here and take confidence from their win against the Chennai Super Kings earlier in the season.

Chennai Super Kings are already out of contention for a spot in the IPL 2022 payoffs and hence may tinker with their team’s composition as a lot of talented youngsters are warming the bench. Batters Subhranshu Senapati and Hari Nishanth, all-rounder Bhagath Verma, keeper N Jagadeesan, bowlers KM Asif Prashant Solanki, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, and Matheeesha Pathirana may get a chance. Pacers Tushar Deshpande and Chris Jordan, all-rounders Mitchell Santner and Dwaine Pretorious may also be played.
