Chris Lynn went unsold in IPL 2022 auction. None of the team made a bid for the Australian player during the auction. Chris Lynn had set a base price of Rs. 1.5 crore for himself in IPL 2021 auction. The Australian batter was part of Mumbai Indians in the last season.
The right-handed batsman made his IPL debut in the 2012 season when he played for Deccan Chargers. He played just one match in the season and scored 6 runs. Later, he was picked by Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2014. He remained with the franchise for 5 seasons till IPL 2019.

From IPL 2014 to IPL 2017, he got only a few chances to play for the team, featuring in 11 games across three seasons. Later in IPL 2018, he played 16 matches for KKR, scoring 491 runs at an average of 32.73 and 3 fifties. He again gave a good show in the next season, scoring 405 runs in 13 games in IPL 2019.

Kolkata Knight Riders released him from the squad after IPL 2019. Mumbai Indians picked him in IPL 2021. He was part of the opening game, where he played a good knock of 49 runs. However, he did not play any more games for the team during the season. Ahead of IPL 2022 auction, Mumbai Indians did not retain Chris Lynn in their squad.
