Chennai Super Kings face-off against Delhi Capitals in match 55 of IPL 2022 at the DY Patil Stadium on Sunday, May 8. Having lost seven out of their 10 games, CSK are all but out of the playoffs race. However, they would like to end on a high winning their last four games and spoiling Delhi’s party in the process.

CSK lost their previous match against RCB where they failed to chase 174 to win. The openers added a 54-run opening stand but the rest of the batsmen failed to carry on the momentum. As a result, they slumbered to their seventh loss of this IPL campaign.

Gaikwad followed up his 99 against SRH with a 28 off 23 balls against RCB. He added a 54-run opening stand with Devon Conway before he was the first CSK wicket to fall in the last game. Gaikwad will continue to open and look to give his team a positive start.

Conway now has scored two back to back fifties in the last two games for Chennai Super Kings. His form at the top of the order has been a welcome change for CSK who have struggled at the top throughout the season.

The veteran batsman has been asked to bat at number three in the last couple of games. That had affected his performance as he bagged a low score against RCB and was dismissed for just 1.

Another veteran batsman, Rayudu will slot in at number four. He needs to play a key role for CSK against DC. Against RCB, he scored 10 off eight balls.

Moeen Ali

Moeen Ali came back to the CSK playing XI in the last two matches. He picked up the key wicket of Kohli with the ball before scoring 34 off 27 balls in the chase. He will slot in at number five adding more depth to the Chennai batting lineup.

Ravindra Jadeja

Jadeja has struggled with bat, ball and in the field throughout the season. Against RCB, he scored just 3 and bowled a spell of none for 20. He will need to step up in the remaining games for Chennai Super Kings.

CSK skipper MS Dhoni failed with the bat when his team needed him in the last game. He has helped his side win a game against Mumbai Indians with the bat but against RCB, he failed to replicate his heroics. Dhoni will slot in at his usual number seven position.
