DC vs MI: Suryakumar Yadav Joins Mumbai Indians Squad In Mumbai

Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Suryakumar Yadav has joined the squad in Mumbai ahead of their season opener against Delhi Capitals.

Suryakumar was out of action since the third T20I against West Indies where he sustained a thumb fracture. He was ruled out of the subsequent series against Sri Lanka and sent to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for rehabilitation.

He recently recovered from the injury and met up with the squad at their hotel. Suryakumar was seen posing alongside the glorious IPL trophies that the franchise has won over the years.

“IPL 2022 is a great opportunity for Suryakumar Yadav to cement his place in the Indian team” – Sunil Gavaskar

Former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar believes that the IPL 2022 is the perfect platform for Suryakumar to book a place in India’s T20I squad for the T20 World Cup this year in Australia.

“It has been a wonderful last couple of seasons for Suryakumar Yadav and IPL 2022 is a great opportunity for him to cement his place in the Indian team by performing well again this season.”

“The Indian team for the T20 World Cup will to a great extent be decided on IPL performances. So, Yadav has got this great opportunity to enhance his chances to be picked in the squad that flies to Australia,” Gavaskar told Star Sports
