DC vs PBKS: Twitter Reacts As Delhi Capitals Demolish Punjab By 9 Wickets
Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) played the most one-sided game of the IPL 2022 season so far as DC thumped PBKS by nine wickets to boost their net run rate in the points table.
Batting first, Punjab was blown away by a collective bowling effort from Delhi. Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan built a 33-run partnership at the top which happened to be their highest.
Once the duo fell in consecutive overs, the overseas English signings, Liam Livingstone and Jonny Bairstow also fell for low scores of 9 and 2 respectively. The middle-order has been frail the entire season and it once again proved to be so.
Apart from Jitesh Sharma, there were no significant contributions from the Punjab batters. They were blown away for 115 with as many as four bowlers taking two wickets each.
In response, any shred of hope Punjab had was blown away by the opening duo of Prithvi Shaw and David Warner. They put on 81 runs in the powerplay which happens to be the highest in the season.
Eventually, they completed the chase with 57 balls remaining, boosting their net run rate on the points table. They now sit in 6th place with 3 wins and 3 losses in 6 matches.
