Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians Match Preview- IPL 2022, Match 02, DC vs MI. Delhi Capitals (DC) kick off their IPL 2022 campaign by playing against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Brabourne stadium in Mumbai in the first of the two games on March 27. DC and Mumbai are placed in group A.

The Rohit Sharma-led side looks solid with a nice blend of youth and experience. The batting packs a punch with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav (unavailable for the game against Delhi) leading the charge.

They also have an exciting young talent in Proteas youngster Dewald Brevis. The bowling also has a lot of experience with pacer Jasprit Bumrah leading the charge.

He will have Tymal Mills (death-overs specialist), Jaydev Unadkat (striking with the new ball) and allrounder Daniel Sams for support. The only slight concern for MI is the spin department. With Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandya gone, Murugan Ashwin is set to take up the lead. He does not have a huge amount of IPL experience.

Delhi Capitals have quite a young squad with the majority of players below 30. Their batting looks solid with skipper Rishabh Pant, opener David Warner, and all-rounder Mitchell Marsh in it. The only slight issue is they do not have a solid experienced Indian bowler apart from Shardul Thakur. It remains to be seen how pacers Khaleel Ahmed and Chetan Sakariya perform.

David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Anrich Nortje, Lungi Ngidi and Mustafizur Rahman are unavailable at the start for Delhi Capitals. Delhi Capitals have a decent first XI but player availability could cause headaches. David Warner is unavailable for the first two games and Mitchell Marsh for the first three games. Lungi Ngidi and Mustafizur Rahman are part of the ongoing ODI series and will also miss the first match.

Anrich Nortje, the South African pacer whose availability for the Indian Premier League this season has been much debated, will be ready to play for the Delhi Capitals team from early April. A franchise official has said that Anrich Nortje will be taking part in the IPL 15 from the team’s third game, more precisely from April 7, when the Delhi Capitals take on Lucknow Super Giants at DY Patil Stadium. Anrich Nortje has already reached Mumbai and has been in quarantine for the last couple of days.
