Moeen Ali tried to play a short on the off-side but dragged the ball onto his stump.

Gujarat Titans Off To A Good Start

Gujarat Titans regular captain Hardik Pandya is sitting out of the game because of a groin injury. Rashid Khan is captaining the side in his absence. He won the toss and chose to field first.

His bowlers responded well to the decision as Mohammad Shami got the wicket of Robin Uthappa in the 3rd over itself.

Moeen Ali came in at 3 but his poor run in the tournament with the bat continued as in the last over of the powerplay he got clean bowled against Alzarri Joseph.

He could manage just 1 run off 3 balls and left his team at 32-2. The good thing for CSK is that Ruturaj Gaikwad looked in good touch and seems to be getting his form back.

Chennai Super Kings came into this game after registering their first win of the tournament against Royal Challengers Bangalore while GT won their last game too and are currently at the top of the points table.

Moeen Ali has struggled for runs this season and his poor form with the bat may worry the management. His performance in the last season was the major reason for CSK winning their 4th IPL title.

Ali hasn’t bowled much in this season mainly due to the conditions which means that his primary role in the side has been as a top-order batter but he hasn’t had the success the franchise would have liked.
